Nous avons le plaisir d’annoncer l’achèvement du projet de réservoirs d’eau pour le St. Peter Girls College dans l’archidiocèse de Gulu, en Ouganda !

Les réservoirs d’eau ont été installés à l’école, fournissant de l’eau propre et sûre aux étudiants. Ce projet a apporté une joie et un soulagement immenses à la communauté scolaire, permettant aux élèves d’étudier sans aucun problème lié à l’eau.

Nous sommes ravis d’avoir participé à cette initiative significative et reconnaissants d’avoir eu l’occasion d’avoir un impact positif sur la vie d’autrui. Ensemble, nous faisons la différence !

SCHOOL FURNITURE FOR ST. MONICA NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL IN UGANDA

Last week, the Congregation of Saint Martin of Porres Brothers in the Diocese of Nebbi in northern Uganda confirmed that the school furniture financed by PS Automation GmbH and Max Schmidhuber had been finished and delivered to the St. Monica Nursery and Primary School in Onjuku Village.

For 296 girls and boys in the Nursery and 688 pupils in the Primary School, the number of available desks was completely inadequate. As part of the project of the Schulhilfswerk für Afrika e.V., which PS Automation was supporting, 80 new school desks, 5 bookshelves, 2 tables and 14 chairs were procured.

For over 50 years Schulhilfswerk für Afrika e.V. has been helping young people in Africa make their way to better education. We are happy to be able to contribute also this year.

GIRLS DORMITORY IN ZIMBABWE

In 2017, PS Automation GmbH joint together with Schulhilfswerk für Afrika e.V. to improve the education of young girls in Zimbabwe.

Due to the weak infrastructure in Africa and the distance to schools, young girls are not able to attend a school without accommodation on the school campus. With an existing 65 beds in the girls` dormitory, Neshaya Secondary School in Hwange/Zimbabwe already started to take care of the problem. Nevertheless, since more than half of the 200 schoolgirls still need a place to stay, additional sleeping places are urgently needed.

With the financial support of PS Automation GmbH, it was possible to extend the dormitory by 50 additional beds. This project is already in the construction phase and the shell and roof have already been built. After the remaining building tasks are completed, the extended dormitory will be ready to be used in May 2018.

We look forward to giving 50 girls the opportunity to experience further education by engaging in this project.

SCHOOL DESKS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL IN SILLE, UGANDA

PS Automation is keen to support the Schulhilfswerk für Afrika e.V.. The aim of the Schulhilfswerk is to provide financial aid to African schools quickly and unbureaucratically. This is done on application, which is checked by the Schulhilfswerk. One of the last projects that could be realized together with PS Automation was the purchase of 160 three-seater school desks for a primary school in Sille, Uganda.

HOLY GHOST COLLEGE NOMINATES PS AUTOMATION FOR AWARD

PS Automation GmbH has been supporting the Schulhilfswerk Afrika e.V. (school relief organization for Africa) already for many years with donations to build schools and to equip them with teaching materials and furnitures.

This year the Holy Ghost College in Sankera (Namibia) celebrates its 10th anniversary. For this reason the school has nominated PS Automation GmbH for the award « Pillar of Holy Ghost College, Sankera ». It will be granted during the celebrations hold on October 29th, 2016.

PS Automation GmbH is looking forward to this acknowledgement and congratulates the Holy Ghost College on its 10th anniversary. Already 130 students has graduated from the college since 2012. PS Automation strives to further support this positive development and wishes the school all the best for its future.

SCHOOL FURNITURE FOR THE RAGEM PRIMARY SCHOOL IN UGANDA

In 2015 PS Automation supported again the organization « Schulhilfswerk fuer Afrika .e.V. » and made a donation for the development of schools in Africa.

At the Ragem Primary School in the far northwest of Uganda there’s a lack of school furniture (desks, tables, chairs, blackboards) and teaching material for the 1,042 pupils. The school has not enough classrooms for all the pupils and thus the rooms are overcrowded. If new school furnitures are bought the pressing closeness can be relieved.

According to the school’s wish list the financial needs amount to approx. 5,700 Euros, theroff 1,100 Euros can be financed by the school itself. Due to the donation of PS Automation GmbH the expenses fo the desks, tables, chairs and blackboards can now be covered.

TEACHING MATERIAL FOR SCIENCE CLASSES

St. Francis Xavier Secondary School in Kasulu, Tansania is a fast growing secondary school with currently 460 students and 10 classes. With the support of the Schulhilfswerk für Afrika e.V. and PS Automation the school was able to add science classes to its curriculum. Several laboratories could be realized where the students experience practical teaching units in chemistry, biology and physics.

PS Automation is glad to announce that due to their support, all costs of teaching materials for science classes in chemistry, biology and physics could be covered. Lessons especially in the domain of science improve the chances of the students to obtain a quality education and pave the way for an university career and a better life in general.

SUPPORT FOR THE « HOLY GHOST COLLEGE » IN NIGERIA

The „Holy Ghost College Sankera“ is run by the Holy-Ghost-Brethren of the region Makurdi in Nigeria. Father Kuha Indyer, CSSp, is the driving force behind the project. On September 18, 2006, the school started with 30 students who graduated in 2012. In the school year of 2007/ 2008, the number of students doubled. By the year of 2012, the number rose to 211 students. The “Holy Ghost College Sankera” is the first of its kind in the area. The college owes its foundation and existence to a very simple but yet strong idea. “If we want to create a better world, we’ll need better education”, says Father Kuha. The local population gratefully accepted the college and in 2009, they decided to establish a primary school next the college which is attended by about 100 pupils. Good education based on Christian values is the concept of the college and enables the develop themselves – and therefore a better society.

With its donation to the organization “Schulhilfswerk für Afrika e.V., PS Automation GmbH was able to contribute to the development of the college. With the help of PS Automation GmbH, a natural scientific laboratory was realized at the college.

Current information on the projects presently looked after by the SHA – the 2004 results – News from Uganda: African Schools ‘SHA’

1. The primary school St. Theresa of Avila in Butebo County is one of five elementary schools of the Catholic parish of Kabwangasi, which is situated in a very poor region. In the 80s, the area was strongly affected by the civil war. Today 1,250 pupils are taught in this school. A wing built in 1950, which houses 6 classrooms, requires urgent renovation and a new roof. Another wing with 3 classrooms needs to be completed. This will ease the overcrowding of classes and improve the academic environment. Application for these projects has been made by Father Lawrence Ssendegeya of the Archbishopric Tororo. Relief for African School will donate 11,000 Euro to this project whose overall costs amount to 17,000 Euro.

2. 640 pupils are taught at St. Kizito Secondary School in Katikamu, which is one of nine secondary schools in the diocese Kasana-Luweero. To improve the educational standards, some schools shall be given special support, and St. Kizito is one of them. For this purpose, the secondary school shall be equipped with teaching material for Science classes, such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics. SHA has obtained a detailed list of materials required, which was approved by the bishop. For a start, the SHA has granted a partial amount of 2,000 Euro.

3. The Kaddunda Holy Spirit Primary School is a primary school teaching 1,200 pupils in Kaddunda, a medium-sized community situated 120 km north-west of the capital Kampala. The school was founded over 60 years ago as a bush school. However, lack of maintenance and destruction during the civil war caused the buildings to turn into dilapidation so that they can hardly be used. But teaching still continues, with around 1,200 pupils attending lessons. It is now planned to restore the existing buildings or to rebuild them. The first phase will cost approx. 43,000 Euro. Once the overall financing has been secured, Relief for African Schools will donate 10,000 Euro to the first phase. This will enable the school to buy materials such as the corrugated iron roof as well as doors and windows.

Our suppliers have contributed to all of these projects to a considerable extent, for which we warmly thank you. We hope you will continue to help us this year so that together we can give support to the schools in Africa, which are struggling for survival and are in dire need of our help.
